Consequences Of Being A Successful Executive...

One of the biggest problems with being so successful in your career often means a lot of time, focus and dedication and long working hours sometimes for years is what you've done to actually get you where you are today.

With so much of your focus on work it can then lead to neglecting other areas of your life particularly your relationship and family, other life interests and hobbies, and your health and fitness.

Other impacts is that you've got yourself into a situation where you can't say no to a boss or client, even to yourself and you sacrifice your loved ones needs and wants. You will go home late or miss your son's school event or just everyday things like taking them to school sometimes or picking them up for the sake of not saying no or taking time out of your big important executive job.

So the impacts can be that executives find themselves over weight or have on/off intense exercise regimes, they can't get up easily in the mornings, they don't really talk to their partners about anything except routine living, what they are doing on the weekend and the kids if they have them.

Often we find that many executives we work with will then try and make up for this by spoiling their loved ones through gifts and fancy holidays to cover up for what is really missing instead of spending quality time together and giving their partners and families what they really want which is generally just 'them'.

Try to give your family some more of YOU this month.

BEWARE: When you’re on a Success Wave…

When everything seems to be going just right in your life, when everything is falling into place and you feel happy, alive, success and excitement is in the air - it is at these times that it is even more important to stop and reflect and keep your eye out on where you are going and exactly what you are doing.

Why is it so important? Because when things are going really well it is easy to get swept up in the wave of success and not see all that is actually going on through all that white wash. And when you can’t see so clearly even for a moment that’s when - Wham a surfboard can smack you in the face and suddenly you’re thrown off the wave, you’re being dumped and this can almost feel like you are about to drown when only moments ago you felt like you were on top of the world riding your success wave super fast all the way to shore.

Why does this happen? Because sometimes you can become so focused on your goal and riding the wave to your success that you didn’t stop for breath, you didn’t pay enough attention to the changes that are happening around you so fast, you’re not fully aware of others impact around you.

When things are going bad it is often easy or even too easy to see all of the bad, when it’s calm seas and blue skies and no wash you have plenty of time to prepare for the next big wave but when up on the wave because it can take you so high up so quickly you can lose sight of the ground, you lose your sense of where you are and then fall off the wave and be hit harder than ever, dumped on shore in a spluttering mess instead of cruising in on your board to find your feet firmly back on the ground.
We all have highs and lows – don’t forget to stop and pay attention to what’s going on around you when you feel like you’re at the top of your game.

LISTENING EAR CREATES NEW CHANCES FOR FRUSTRATED SENIOR EXECUTIVES

For many CEO’s and senior executives, being at the top can be a lifetime dream, but while everyone imagines success in a thousand different ways, few people realise it can be frustrating and lonely at the top. And because everyone is looking up to them for all the answers senior executives don’t realise they don’t have to go it alone. They can now have a trusted confident and listening ear any time they need it. The result of being at the top can mean those underneath are busy keeping the boss happy to keep their jobs in tact even at the expense of revealing all the facts. This lack of knowledge prevents thousands of executives making accurate decisions and fulfilling their personal and company dreams.

“For most people, whether they meet their personal and company goals will depend on what their team tell them or not. That’s very frightening.” Says Jacqueline Pigdon a Personal & Executive Coach who has provided a listening ear and helped dozens of people by telling them straight what they need to hear to achieve their goals. “It’s that lack of outside non-biased feedback and advice that’s stopping executives from making accurate decisions and leading their teams to fast track company goals.”

Jacqueline supports executives at the top rid their frustrations. The key is an understanding what you have control over and what you don’t, she says, and to gain a better understanding how your team communicate. “It’s possible to find the facts” Jacqueline says “and achieve all your company goals.”

INTEREST RATES UP – DIVORCES TO FOLLOW?

Rising interest rates are always stressful. Whether you have a mortgage or are affected by the rising price of your weekly grocery bill. Millions of people become angry and complain about the situation instead of looking for ways to cope during tough times. Rising interest rates can actually have a devastating affect on marriages for thousands of people.

“Everyone is aware of rising prices” explains Jacqueline Pigdon a Personal & Executive Coach who has helped dozens of clients save their marriages. “But few people are aware of the harm that all the anger and complaining is doing to a relationship”.
According to Jacqueline, the most damaging aspect of rising interest rates is the fact that when struggling to pay the bills or having to sell their homes, people tend to become so upset that they have no where to vent except at their partners. That daily frustration can wear away at even the most solid of relationships and most understanding and supportive of partners.

But it’s not just the pain of rising prices that are causing problems. It’s the fear of selling their dream home that is eating away at people’s happiness. Instead of venting at each other and chipping away at its foundation, couples can use this time instead to spend building upon their relationship.

Although it’s never easy to cope with the rising of interest rates and grocery prices when the choice is between moaning and groaning or finding ways to cope the decision should be easy, says Jacqueline.

Executive decisions biggest obstacle to moving forward in business...

For many people making decisions is not easy. Fear of making the wrong decision can quickly cause stress and anxiety. When people are drowning in these types of emotions it can all just feel too overwhelming. Then fear of making the right decision is just too hard. This fear has become the main obstacle in moving forward in life for thousands of people.

“For most people, especially senior executives, whether or not they move forward and achieve their goals in both their professional and personal lives will depend solely on their ability to make the right decisions for themselves and their companies,” explains Jacqueline Pigdon, a Personal & Executive Coach who has helped dozens of people overcome their inhibitions to happily and confidently move forward in their life. “It’s that fear of making the wrong decision that even prevents people being happy with their decision once they’ve made it.”

On the other hand, she adds, it’s always the brave souls who aren’t afraid of making a mistake who always seem to do the best.

Jacqueline successfully helps people overcome their fears and help them see that making decisions doesn’t have to be scary. The key is to stop procrastinating about decisions to be made in your life, she says, is first understanding and being true to yourself and then looking at the decision with a clear and confident perception. “It’s possible to beat decision making fear” says Jacqueline “and fast track your way forward to achieving all your life goals”.

SPECIAL PROGRAM: HELPS SENIOR EXECUTIVES LEAVE WORK AT THE OFFICE DOOR

The expectation to do more in less time has hit executives harder than most. Usually confident, well-educated and highly ambitious, executives have found themselves with so much on their mind they can’t leave it behind at the office door. To help executives enjoy their personal life and gain a more peaceful mind, Personal & Executive Coach Jacqueline Pigdon has launched a special program to help executives become fully engaged with their family when at home.

“Being busy at work certainly isn’t a new phenomenon” explains Jacqueline, who has been helping people gain work/life balance for several years. “But for many senior executives this is the first time they feel that they’re losing control and the effects can be devastating for their stress levels, sleeping habits and their family relationships”.

Jacqueline’s program will work on two areas at the same time: overcoming stressful issues at work and putting together a practical plan to help them get back their work/life balance even if they require to do some work at home.

Although it’s crucial to keep your job and provide for your self and family, Jacqueline argues, it doesn’t help when you constantly bring work home at the risk of missing out on quality and focused personal time and time spent with your partner and children.

The program will point out how senior executives can leave their work at the office door and arrive home with a peaceful and happy mindset and achieve both career success and a happy home life at the same time.

There are 30 places available on this program which will start on Monday 25th August 2008.

3 Keys to Keeping Yourself & Your Staff Motivated!

Do you start things with the best intentions and full of motivation to achieve your goal be in your personal life or at work but then find you lack the motivation you need to keep going and finish what you set out to do – or even start?

Or you try again and ‘this time’ you will do it? Reading or listening to motivational CD’s and books, scheduling that time into your diary and/or having your own Life Coach is a great way to stay motivated but how can you stay motivated all the time?

Here are the 3 key factors a person needs to stay motivated:

1. Monitor your progress –

Before you start any new goal write down exactly where you are now. If it’s exercise, note the frequency, duration, endurance, strength, your weight, size etc. Relationship, how you’re communicating, time spent together, fights etc. Business, you have no business yet just the idea and get up and go to start one. As you go along keep note of your achievements.

2. Celebrate your success –

Too often people are too hard on themselves, they think because they haven’t reached their goal yet or are perfect they can only see how they’ve failed or how far they still have to go. If you are feeling this way check out how far you’ve actually already come from where you were in the beginning! Then treat yourself when you’ve achieved mini milestones with something you like doing such as having a massage, seeing a movie, special dinner or simply a day off!

3. Remind yourself WHY you’re doing it -

This I think is the absolute biggest motivator! What is the purpose of you achieving this goal and what will it mean to you / those around you once you have achieved it? Ask yourself what will it mean if I DON’T achieve this goal?

When you stop and ask yourself these questions and remind yourself just what it means to you – you should have all the motivation you need. Things that can inhibit motivation can be; not believing in yourself, lots of excuses or just laziness.

Ensure you have first set realistic and achievable goals and then never forget that believing in yourself is one of the most important factors of success.

If you’re using excuses as why you can’t or don’t want to achieve your goal anymore take a good hard look at what those excuses are and ask yourself are they really relevant or am I just justifying?
If you’re being lazy – get up and JUST DO IT!

You’ll be much happier after you have done it than if you carry around I should have done it.. or your unfulfilled goals.
